Sagna explains what Arteta has changed and backs Arsenal to win title

Former Arsenal defender Bacary Sagna has backed Mikel Arteta to lead the Gunners to a first Premier League title since 2004.

Sagna spent seven years at the Emirates between 2007 and 2014 and starred alongside current boss Arteta.

Arteta was brought into the club from Manchester City – where he was assistant to Pep Guardiola – after a dismal start to the campaign under Unai Emery.

And Sagna says the change he's made in his time in the dugout so far are obvious to see.

When asked if Arteta could lead the Gunners to to Premier League glory, the Frenchman told Goal: "I think so.

" Leicester did it and no-one expected them to, but they had a great team spirit and were fighting every single game.

“ Arsenal can do it too, because if you face Arsenal it is always difficult because of the way they move and play.

“I think it [Arteta's appointment] was a great choice because he has personality.

“If he’s not happy about a player he will go straight to them and tell them they are out of the team and that they will have to work to come back.
