Three Premier League clubs who should sign Sturridge with star fitter than ever
Forgotten star Daniel Sturridge is rebuilding his fitness in training with Mallorca while on the hunt for his next club.
Sturridge, 32, has been putting himself through his paces with the Spanish club, while also getting on the scoresheet in a behind-closed-doors friendly this weekend.
The former Liverpool striker, who has not played professionally for 18 months after terminating his contract at Trabzonspor, looks fitter than ever in a series of training photos he posted on Instagram, including the caption: "No better feeling than scoring goals. Even in behind closed doors games like I played today, when I scored it felt amazing.
"Feeling sharper and sharper as the days go by. Can’t wait to play a proper game whenever the day comes and show the world my talents. God is good."
So could a return to the Premier League be on the cards for Sturridge? We've picked out four teams who could snap up the ex-England ace on a free transfer.
Following their miserable start to the season, the Magpies could make worse moves than taking a punt on Sturridge.
With Joelinton and Dwight Gayle struggling in front of goal over the past year, Callum Wilson is Steve Bruce's only sufficient option at the pinpoint of Newcastle's attack right now.
If he could get him fit and firing again, Bruce bringing Sturridge to St James' Park may prove a masterstroke.

Graham Potter's biggest problem on the south coast last season was scoring goals, with Danny Welbeck, Neal Maupay and Aaron Connolly only scoring 16 goals between them.
At the peak of his powers Sturridge bagged 24 goals in 33 appearances for Liverpool, almost helping the Reds clinch the Premier League title that season.
Even half of that return would be a major boost for Potter and co.

Given Michail Antonio is the only out-and-out centre-forward at David Moyes' disposal right now, a free move for Sturridge wouldn't be the worst of ideas.
He could prove the perfect understudy for Antonio when the 31-year-old powerhouse is in need of a rest, allowing Moyes to keep his star striker fit and fresh.
Whether Sturridge is capable of getting back to his best at 32 is unclear, but with no transfer fee required it wouldn't be much of a risk.
