Youri Tielemans’ Man Utd transfer decision justified after his latest admission
Youri Tielemans believes Leicester have the "perfect environment" to win trophies having previously rejected the possibility of playing for Manchester United.
The midfielder arrived at the Foxes on loan in January 2019 and quickly impressed.
As Leicester eyed a permanent deal United also considered him as a replacement for Paul Pogba, who was linked with a summer exit.
Tielemans' agent suggested they wait to see whether the Red Devils made a move, but the Belgian wasn't interested reported Sky Sports.
The 23-year-old was convinced by the ambition shown by Brendan Rodgers at the King Power Stadium and signed that summer.
Leicester finished fifth last term but look well placed to finish in the top four this season and remain in Europa League contention.
Tielemans was quizzed on a new deal with the Foxes and replied: "Why not?
"This is a club where you have the best environment you can have.
"The people around you just want the best.
"It's brilliant to be here, we'll see what's coming in the future but the environment is perfect to win trophies.
"You can't predict the future but everything around the club and inside the club is made for it."
Leicester have built an impressive squad with the likes of James Maddison and Harvey Barnes supplying Jamie Vardy in attack.
Youngster James Justin has also been a revelation this season at left-back.
Rodgers left a Celtic side that was winning huge amounts of silverware to take over the Foxes, but has spoken glowingly about Leicester's potential since arriving.
"I knew when I came in here that the club was ambitious, but it was also realistically optimistic," he said recently.
"They understand where the club is at, we will always do everything and I think this club has shown that everything is possible.
"But we want to continue to evolve and develop which is the essence of the work here."
